Perú, años 90. La capital, Lima, espejo de los graves problemas económicos de toda la nación. En esta crisis permanente muchos limeños se dedican a hacer de taxistas con sus propios vehículos en su tiempo libre, pues los paupérrimos sueldos que cobran son insuficientes para vivir. Ésa es la realidad que deben vivir éstas personas y, por lo tanto, los interiores de estos improvisados taxis son el plató que la peruano-holandesa Honnigman elige para colocar su cámara durante casi toda la película.

Peru, 1990s. The capital, Lima, reflects the nation's severe economic problems. In this perpetual crisis, many Limeños work as taxi drivers in their spare time, using their own vehicles, as the meager wages they earn are insufficient to live on. This is the reality these people face, and therefore, the interiors of these makeshift taxis become the set that the Peruvian-Dutch filmmaker Honnigman chooses to film in for almost the entire movie.
